Why I Write (1000 Poems)
Share
I write
because thoughts and emotions
are too precious
to let time erase them
I write
to stir curiosity,
to leave something behind
that will still speak
when I no longer can
I write
because this grief is too heavy to carry alone
and my shelves are already full
of memories I can’t throw away
but can’t hold
without breaking
pain unspoken
never stays hidden—
it gets loud in the quiet,
rests heavy in your eyes,
and lives in the weight
of the things you never say
I write
because I can feel myself
wearing thin,
and the love I have left
deserves more
than being locked away to rot
on these pages
my soul can finally breathe—
and there is healing
when pain or love
is given a voice
because a voice
can turn ache into meaning,
and meaning
can hold you together
when you’re falling apart
I write
because it’s the only way I know
to drag light out of the darkness,
to take what tried to break me
and turn it into something
that saves me
